“Put your pinky rings up to the moon”?! (Bruno Mars – 24k Magic)
Who wears pinky rings?
No one, I thought. So I did a quick Google searching to make sure. I found that Pinky Rings for Men, followed by Pinky Rings Up To The Moon have been Googled a decent amount since the songs release. I wondered if anyone that reads the magazine was wondering what the deal on them was too. So, here we are.
The initial Google search brought up a lot of Gold Jewelry that resembled a ring I once got from the front of a Great American. Followed by Zales, Etsy, and Amazon ads. Let’s dig deeper.
I jumped ship at the bottom of the page when they offered me a better search statement – “Mens pinky ring meaning” Right at the top, like a giant Wikipedia pop out was a quote “Pinky rings have several historical meanings; they can indicate a lack of interest in pursuing marriage, a person’s self-identification as gay or an involvement with organized crime. Signet rings are also often worn on the pinky finger.” from reference.com so you know, it’s probably legit.
So the pinky ring is a symbol that your boy is just looking for a good time and nothing too serious, if this is you and you feel like the people who are pursuing you will get the reference, I would suggest a pinky ring. If not, I think it’s safe to go without.
