Applications for anything can be the biggest nuisance. Whether you’re applying for a job, an apartment, a new dog, you have to provide a lot of information. Typically this requires you having to get out your Social Security Card from your tattered wallet after praying it’s still in there after not using it in ages. Pulling out your Driver’s License number, full legal name… and now Sexual Orientation? Is that thorough, or too invasive? What about protections, since a lot of people are still uncomfortable with LGBT individuals and the statistics back that up with too many to count unfortunate deaths.

Finance behemoth Goldman Sachs is beginning a process to implement a sexual orientation section of their employment applications, with the intent of having individuals disclose their sexual orientation as soon as they apply for work according to the new 2017 Fortune Report. They have already in recent months installed an option on their online applications asking applicants to disclose their transgender status as well.
